Child Safeguarding Policy Statement
Fregoli Theatre are committed to a child-centred approach in our work carried out with children and young people. We highly value children and young people and endeavour to provide a safe environment and experience, where the welfare of the child/young person is paramount. We will adhere to Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children (2017).
The majority of our work targets and involves adults, but we occasionally engage in the provision of drama and performance workshops to children and young people, which may take place in locations such as schools, community centres and youth clubs. We may also present performances to children and young people in theatres, outdoor festivals and sites, schools, community centres, and youth clubs.
We value the right of all children and young people to respect and safety, freedom of expression, and participation in the arts and culture. This statement ensures our commitment that child well-being is enshrined in all aspects of our theatre company, and incorporates all policies and procedures that relate to work with children and young people.
It is targeted at all adults involved in the company, be they staff, interns or volunteers, who must sign up and abide by the principles outlined in our statement and safeguarding procedures.
